Which areas do you cover?

What car do you use?

We use a SEAT Leon with a manual gearbox and petrol engine. You can read more here.

What's the quickest way to pass my test?

You can study for your theory test as early as you like. You can apply for your driving licence a few weeks before your 17th birthday. Once you have your provisional licence, you can book your theory test for the day of, or shortly after, your 17th birthday. You can also have your first driving lesson on your 17th birthday. Once you’ve passed your theory test, you can book your driving test. At present, there’s usually quite a long wait for this, so it’s worth getting to this point as soon as possible. If you become ready for your test sooner, you may be able to pick up a cancellation sooner, or if you aren’t ready, you can reschedule it further into the future.

How much of my lesson will I actually spend driving?

On your first lesson, we will usually drive you to a quiet area before you get into the driver’s seat. From here, we run through all of the controls and getting seated comfortably. Everyone will do some driving on their first lesson. From lesson two, you’ll spend almost all of the lesson in the driver’s seat, working up to 100% as soon as you’re safe and confident.

Pass Rates

The monthly average pass rate in the UK for the last five years has been around 45-50%. The pass rate in Worcester tends to sit around 50-55%. Approximately 50% of people pass on their first attempt.

What is your cancellation Policy?

Please see our terms and conditions.

How many lessons will I need?

Typically, 25-50 hours of professional instruction. Some will need more, some will need less. We can give you our opinion after an initial 2-hour lesson. You can help to reduce this by getting practice in between this in your own car with a friend or family member.

Should I practice in between lessons?

Yes and no. We suggest you complete at least ten hours with an instructor before practising with friends or family, but after that, you should gain as much experience as you can. Bad habits
learned early on are very hard to break and may stay with you right up to test day (even after you have had proper instruction). As you approach your test, you should increase the frequency of your lessons to ensure a pass.

How often should I take lessons?

We would recommend an absolute minimum of two hours per week. Any less than this, and there’s a danger of making very little real progress. As you near your test, you may need to increase this to ensure you’re at test standard. There’s really no upper limit, other than the constraints of diary scheduling. Practice makes perfect, as they say!

Should I learn in an automatic?

At present, we only offer manual lessons; you can read more about our reasoning for this here.

I'm struggling to learn - I don't think I can ever pass my test.

It sounds like you need a different instructor. Perhaps your instructor isn’t very good at adapting their coaching style to meet your needs. Give us a try - we promise you’ll feel like you’ve made progress in your first lesson!

What will my instructor be like?

You can read more here.

Can I start driving before I've done my Theory Test?

Yes, having lessons will actually help you with your theory. Learning both in parallel is usually recommended. However, you can’t book your practical test until you’ve passed the theory, and with the long waits for practical tests at the minute, we would recommend getting your theory boxed off and passed as soon as possible.

What times are you available?

We offer as much flexibility as possible, with early morning, daytime, evening, and weekend lessons available to suit you.

Are there any other pupils in the car?

No. We do not pick up or drop off other pupils in your time, although if you would like to share lessons with a friend, that can be arranged.

How do I apply for a provisional licence?

You can apply online by following this link: https://www.gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence

What do I need to bring to my first lesson?

Your instructor will need to see your driving licence. If you require glasses, you must wear them as your instructor will carry out an eyesight test. You must be able to read a number plate at a distance of 20.5 metres. You should also wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Can I have training in my own car?

We always do the first lesson in our vehicle, which is fitted with dual controls. After the first lesson, we’ll either be happy to do lessons in your car or discuss with you when we can do lessons in your car.

Can I take my test in my own car?

Yes, this is possible, providing the car meets the requirements for the test. We can discuss this if this is an option you wish to consider.
